Supplies Needed to Make the Tulip Popup Card

  • Colored craft papers
  • Cardstock paper
  • Pencil
  • A pair of scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Sharpies

How To Make Tulip Popup Cards

1. Select cardstock paper for the card and regular colored craft papers for the flower, leaf, and pop-up bases. Trace the template patterns on the selected papers and cut them out nicely using scissors.

2. Take the pop-up base cutouts and make creases along the marked lines (yellow lines on the template).

3. Fold them into a 3d square shape and evenly join the 2 open sides to form the base.

4. Join the short pop-up base with the big one on the open side. The short one should be placed on top of the big one.

5. Flatten the bases upwards along their crease lines to check if they are joined nicely.

6. Take the leaf cutouts and make accordion folds between every 2 leaves. Unfold and flatten the leaf base again.

7. Take the tulip cutouts and fold them evenly from both sides to make crease lines. Unfold. This will give the tulip a 3d look.

8. Attach the leaf layers on the pop-up bases, One on top and one on bottom (front). Attach the paper tulips on the leaves. (Do not add too many paper tulips, otherwise, the card won’t close or flatten neatly.)

Prepare the card base. Fold the card base in half.

Attach the pop-up tulip pattern on the inner sides of the card. Close and flatten the card right after attaching the pop-up tulip pattern to check if the position of the pop-up base is correct.

Allow the glue to dry and your card will be ready.
